Born & raised in Garrett County, a graduate of Southern Garrett High School, Class of 1962. He attended Frostburg State University, and was a 1965 graduate of Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. An Army Veteran of Vietnam War, 1st Lt. Inf. Officer. He has owned and operated David A. Burdock Funeral Home in Kitzmiller, MD since 1972 and purchased Durst Funeral Home in Oakland in September of 2005.

Born & raised in Garrett County, Dick graduated from Southern Garrett High School in 1964; Army Veteran of Vietnam War, awarded the Purple Heart and Distinguished Service Cross with Valor; Operated Patterson Boat Company, retired in 1996.
